Everyone was shouting madly, as if I were prey they had to capture.
I quietly took a few steps back, only to find myself surrounded.
I frowned deeply. This wasn’t good.
My mind raced, thinking of ways to escape, quickly heading towards the gasoline stash, threatening them with my remaining powers; or using lighting to break through and create an escape route…
No matter what, I won’t compromise in this life.
Resolute, I lifted my bright eyes.
Then I heard a bang.
Followed by the thud of a falling body.
“Murder
Become SVIP! Road all SVIP stories
The crowd, fierce moments ago, scattered like startled birds.
Nolan remained unfazed, as if he hadn’t just shot someone.
The team’s morale has been low lately. Such troublemakers must be nipped in the bud. I won’t let this safe zone I struggled to build be toppled by instigation.”
Nolan’s tone was calm but chilling.
“I only care about value. If you’re useful, you live. If you’re useless and disruptive, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
Cold sweat soaked my back. Even in this life, I still couldn’t see through Nolan.
After speaking, Nolan smiled at my sister.
She trembled, blurting out, “I’m useful! I have healing powers.”
Realizing her slip, she smoothed her hair and softly said, “In the end, it’s all my sister’s fault. If she really wasn’t bitten, she could just prove it
to everyone?
She tried to redirect attention to me.
I leaned in close, whispering, “You’re useless, always using the same trick.”
Then I chuckled coldly, my fear vanished, and I said leisurely, “Whether I’m bitten or not, it’s a chance to verify your so–called healing ability.”
I rolled up my sleeve, revealing a bloody wound.
My eyes sparkled, “Come on, maybe your healing power can stop zombification.”
The crowd, initially noisy over my wound, suddenly quieted.
Could being bitten not lead to zombification?!
This was a huge advantage!
The mix of surprise at my wound and fear of exposure was obvious on my sister’s face.
Nolan, interested, chimed in, “Yeah, give it a try.”
My sister, under everyone’s gaze, trembled and raised her hands, a shimmering green light flowing.
