She approached my bed and said, “It’s really cool at night, Andrea. When I was living in the countryside, I didn’t have any air–conditioning. I actually feel a chill from it now. Plus, we can also save on electricity. That’s good for the environment.”
With my eyebrow still arched, I looked at Simone and asked, “Do you really think that?”

Assuming that I was finally going to agree to her request, Simone happily nodded.
One hour later, the maintenance worker came to help me install a vinyl sheet around the air conditioner. Once that was completed, the cold air was all directed toward my side of the room, keeping my bed nice and cool.
Meanwhile, the temperature on Simone’s side of the room was the same as the warm weather outside.
Simone was so furious that her features were all contorted, but before she could say anything, I spoke up first.
“You don’t need to thank me. I’m just doing what’s right for the both of us.‘

“Why, you! How can you be so selfish? Why are you the only one who gets to enjoy the cool air from the air conditioner?”
While adjusting the temperature with the remote, I answered, “Weren’t you the one who said that the air from the air conditioner was too chilly for you?”
My response rendered her speechless. All she could do was huff in anger and ignore the stickiness as she got in bed.
I heard her rolling around in bed as I quietly scrolled through her social media account.
As expected, she was still livestreaming. Some of the viewers were berating me, but some were also starting to praise me. Either way, her livestream numbers were decreasing. She had already lost half her fans, so I guessed she was panicking as well.
In my previous life, she managed to garner over a million fans thanks in no small part to the videos she posted of her gaslighting me and slandering me. But this time around, she had fans who only watched to poke fun at her.
When I woke up from my good night’s sleep, Simone was still in bed. Her clothes were sticking to her sweat–soaked back. It looked like it had been too hot for her to sleep last night, but she had finally dozed off out of tiredness.
Seeing how sweaty she was, I kindly pulled the blanket over her before getting ready for class.
Once again, Simone skipped class. The semester had only just started, but she had already skipped class twice now. I wondered if she could even pass her finals.
The next few days passed peacefully, and I wasn’t used to the lack of Simone’s attempts to cause trouble.
