I kept tabs on Simone the whole time. It had been a few days since she last updated her account. I figured she was up to something.
Not wanting to share a dorm with someone as annoying as Simone, I planned on moving into Jeremy’s place.
Jeremy didn’t like staying in a dorm, so unlike me, he bought a house near campus.
That night, I went over and played video games with him. The loser of every round had to drink, and Jeremy kept losing every single time. He ended up getting drunk, though it didn’t show on his face. It was only when he finally passed out that I realized he had drunk too much.

I dutifully helped him into bed and turned off the lights before retreating to the couch in the room to continue reading my novel.
In the middle of the night, only the sound of the air conditioner running could be heard. I was deeply engrossed in my book when all of a sudden, I heard the front door unlocking.
Immediately, my ears perked up. All the stories I had heard about robberies flashed across my mind.
Since I didn’t have a weapon, I shoved Jeremy, but he remained motionless. I tried to pull him up, but I couldn’t lift a muscular, full–grown man myself.
Jeremy’s apartment was a two–story one, and the bedroom was on the second floor. To get up here, the intruder had to pass through the living room and climb up the stairs.
Listening closely to the sounds, I could tell that the door had been pushed open, and someone was carefully creeping into the apartment.
I grabbed my phone and called the police before ducking behind the curtains and using my phone to make a video recording.
Soon, the bedroom door was pushed open. I saw someone carefully approaching the bed and pulling out a phone, using the light to shine on Jeremy’s face. Thanks to that light, I could see who the intruder was-Simone!
What was she doing here?
