Chapter 1
“Luna, I have some good news to tell you. You’re pregnant.”
When I heard the news, my first instinct was to tell Alpha Joseph. Although I wasn’t his fated mate, we were in love. As everyone knows, conception is more difficult for couples who
aren’t fated mates.
After thinking it over, I decided to surprise him. at tonight’s pack party.
I carefully packed the prenatal report.
When I arrived at the hotel, everyone was smiling and socializing. They were dressed in their finest clothes and adorned with the best jewelry. They all noticed me and bowed in
greeting.

Alpha Joseph gave a brief speech from the stage, discussing future plans and thanking me for always being by his side.
When he saw me, he ended his speech and walked toward me with a happy expression.
I smiled back at him, but suddenly he stopped.
“Alpha Joseph,” I called softly, taking a step
toward him.
“It’s you,” Alpha Joseph said in a low voice. My knees went weak. I followed his gaze and saw
the woman behind me.
It was Hallie, Alpha Joseph’s first love and his
fated mate.
I felt like I had plunged into an ice–cold abyss. Years ago, when Alpha Joseph’s pack was
attacked by rogues, his parents were killed, and
he was left disabled Hallie had disappeared
Chapter T
It was me who had stayed with Alpha Joseph through his darkest and most painful times. I supported him through his recovery, helped him manage the pack, and stood by him until he regained his strength and became the Alpha of
Wilderness Pack.
Just a few days ago, during the Harvest Festival, he had proposed to me.
We were both slowly finding our way back to happiness–so why, now, is she back to destroy
it?
“Joseph,” I regained my composure and walked over to him, trying to catch his attention. Desperately, I kissed his lips, hoping he would notice me.
“I… I have some good news for you,” I stammered, struggling to keep my tears at bay.
“My fated mate” he murmured again his car

“My fated mate,” he murmured again, his
gaze
fixed on Hallie as if I weren’t there. I could barely breathe and had to step aside.
I watched as Alpha Joseph walked toward her,
gently cupping Hallie’s tear–streaked face with trembling hands.
“Hello, my mate. I’m back.”
Hallie’s words echoed in my mind. My face turned pale as I staggered to a nearby table for
support.
No, no, no. I silently prayed to the Moon Goddess to wake me from this nightmare, but my wolf, Zoe, howled in despair in my mind, telling me this was no dream.
The two of them stared at each other with such deep affection that I couldn’t bear to watch any longer. I turned and walked away, traversing the

empty streets, indifferent to the light rain falling around me.
“Evelyn, I need to find out why he betrayed us. Why did he turn against us?” Zoe’s helpless roars and questions echoed in my mind, but I had no strength to respond.
I sank onto a bench by the street, clutching my head with both hands, and began to cry.
“Oh, Evelyn, please don’t cry. If you fall apart like this, what will happen to the puppy inside
you? I will always be by your side,” Zoe said in
agony.
I couldn’t control my emotions any longer. I had just received the Moon Goddess’s blessing, and my puppy was still just a tiny life growing inside me, yet its father had fallen in love with
someone else.

What was I supposed to do? My cries grew
louder.
I feared that Alpha Joseph might once again.
succumb to this bond.
