Chapter 16
Byron held Julia’s hand tightly and slowly led her.
However, not long after, Julia made a misstep and stepped on Byron’s foot. She immediately stepped back, feeling somewhat at a loss.
Byron grimaced for a moment from being stepped on, but then he embraced her waist and turned her in a circle, saying, “It’s okay. Take it slow.” His strong arm wrapped around her waist, and as she spun, he lifted her off the ground, both of her feet dangling.
Julia was startled, and as she was lifted slightly, her gaze met Byron’s Adam’s apple. At that moment, it was bobbing slightly. Julia quickly averted her gaze, feeling somewhat embarrassed, realizing that Byron was indeed not a kid anymore. Meanwhile, Joseph, who had been listening to Amelie, now had his gaze fixed on Julia and Byron, observing their intimate actions. He instinctively furrowed his brow, his face suddenly darkening, his eyes narrowing.
“Joseph?” Amelie followed Joseph’s gaze, and seeing Julia, her expression changed slightly. Then, she said in a soft voice, “Look. They make a perfect match, don’t they?”
However, Joseph’s expression grew even more somber. ‘Did she just publicly reject the engagement for that boy?‘ he wondered.
As for Julia, she had no idea what Joseph and Amelia were thinking. After finishing the dance with Byron, she felt quite tired. She waved her hand, saying, “Sorry, but I’m a bit tired. I’ll go rest over there.”
For some reason, Julia had been feeling tired and sleepy lately. Pro due to not getting enough rest,‘ she thought. She sat
down at the table and remembered the champagne she hadn’t had a chance to drink. She was about to reach for a glass of champagne, but, as if guided by some unseen force, she picked up a glass of lemon juice instead. She took a sip, and the sour taste made her furrow her brows.
‘Ugh, it’s really sour…‘ she complained inwardly. However, she didn’t know

Since the last party, Julia had been staying at the Lopez family’s residence, a even arranged for a driver for her,
although she didn’t really need one. However, Catalina insisted, and Julia had no choice but to accept.
One day, the driver, as usual, took Julia to work. Seeing Julia exhausted from waking up early, he hesitated for a while before

In fact, this was a message from Catalina. His relationship with Julia had become quite harmonious as he often drove her to and from work.
Catalina was afraid that Julia wouldn’t agree, so she wanted the driver to suggest it subtly.
Upon hearing this, Julia opened her half–closed eyes. She knew everyone had her best interests at heart. She had been swamped lately, dealing with numerous patients and working on her thesis. She often worked late at the hospital and sometimes encountered Catalina getting up to drink water in the middle of the night. Catalina had mentioned it a few times, but since Julia didn’t respond directly, Catalina had to give up, feeling even more concerned for Julia. Catalina had finally found her daughter, and all she wanted was for Julia to live happily every day.
“I love my job,” Julia softly said. “I’m tired but happy.” Saving every patient made her very happy.

several people as they walked toward the hospital. She wondered which family’s elder this might be. However, after a short while, she saw the elderly man suddenly collapse, and the people around him scattered, with some rushing into the hospital and others standing there at a loss.
Julia’s expression turned serious. “Luke, stop the car!” She quickly got out of the car, pushed aside the bewildered onlookers, and knelt beside the elderly man, immediately starting CPR.
The elderly man slowly regained consciousness, his aged eyes cloudy. His complexion was extremely pale, and after a while, he started coughing and then spat out a mouthful of blood.
Julia was taken aback, her expression darkening, realizing that the elderly man would probably not make it.
