Chapter 18
When Julia woke up, Byron was still sitting beside her, but it was clear that he was exhausted. He propped his head up with his hands, and his head nodded occasionally.
Julia got up from the couch, and her movement woke up Byron.
Byron blinked and looked at Julia stand up. “Julia, are you getting up?”
Julia poured herself and Byron a glass of water. “Hmm, why don’t you go home and rest?”
She placed the water in front of Byron, only to see a bunch of keys on the table. “Is this your key?”
“No, it’s your key,” Byron replied.
Julia was stunned for a moment before she said, “I couldn’t possibly be so tired that I can’t even recognize my own keys.”
Byron fell silent for a few seconds, then reluctantly spoke up. “It was sent by that person.”
“Who?” Julia was puzzled.
“Your ex–husband,” Byron replied.
‘Joseph?‘ thought Julia. She raised an eyebrow and asked, “Did he personally deliver it?”
Byron nodded unwillingly.
Julia was puzzled again, saying inwardly, ‘What does this mean? Send me the apartment?‘
Julia picked up the bunch of keys, shook it, and casually made a phone call to Joseph, but it was Joel who answered the phone. “Mrs. Mullins, may I ask what’s the matter? Mr. Mullins is currently in a meeting and cannot take any calls.”
Julia paused momentarily before saying, “You should change your address. Don’t call me Mrs. Mullins anymore. Just call me Julia.”
“Okay, Mrs. Mullins,” Joel replied.
Julia was left helpless and decided not to dwell on the issue of address anymore. “What does the key that Joseph gave me
mean?”
“Mr. Mullins bought an apartment for you,” said Joel.
“I do not need it. I already have a place to stay,” Julia said.
“Mrs. Mullins, this is Mr. Mullins‘ decision. Otherwise, would you like to meet and discuss with him?” Joel added. Julia fell silent.
Joel silently thought to himself on the other end of the phone that he really was Mr. Mullins’s good helper.
Unexpectedly, Julia replied, “I understand. I’ll contact him later. Goodbye.”
After hanging up the phone, Julia looked at the bunch of keys as if she were holding a hot charcoal.
She sighed heavily, thinking, ‘What a terrible situation!”
However, this matter was not urgent. Julia planned to return the keys to Joseph after some time.
Due to the success of the previous surgery, combined with the sufficiently outstanding research paper, Julia was an unquestionable candidate to become the chief physician.

Chapter 18
Several doctors in the department were all calling for Julia to treat them for dinner.
Julia couldn’t refuse, so she made a reservation at a restaurant to treat everyone to a meal.
The driver still came to pick her up from work, and she brought Byron with her. The driver dropped her off at the restaurant entrance, and she saw a quite familiar car parked next to it.
She gazed for a moment and remembered it was Joseph’s Bugatti.
Julia didn’t expect that he was also here.
“What’s the matter, Julia?” Byron could
help but ask as he saw her staring at one spot.
“It’s okay. You can get out of the car.” Julia turned around. “Luke, you can go home now. I can come back by myself later.”
“Alright, ma’am,” answered Luke.
When Julia exited the car, she glanced back at the Bugatti again.
There weren’t many people in the department, probably only five or six. However, Julia Lopez ordered a lot of dishes. After all, it was not good to order just enough, or people might think she was stingy.
“Julia, you’ve ordered so much! What will we do if we
finish it all?” one of Julia’s colleagues said.
“It’s okay. Eat up. If we can’t finish, just pack it up,” Julia said with a slight smile.
The serving of the dishes was quite fast. Julia took a few bites of the suddenly stopped and looked at the layer of golden oil floating on top.

Somehow, she suddenly felt a wave of nausea in her stomach.
She felt the vegetables she had just eaten were still churning in her stomach.
She suddenly felt something was wrong, immediately stood up, ignoring the curious gazes of the others, and rushed to the
restroom.
She covered her mouth and ran quickly, but just as she turned the corner, she ran into someone with a loud “bang.”
She didn’t even have time to look up. After quickly saying, “Sorry,” she hurried away.
Julia ran to the sink and couldn’t suppress the nauseating feeling. She started to retch.
Her face was ashen, and she felt a burning pain in her stomach.
She vomited until her face turned pale.
Struggling to suppress that sensation, Julia adopted a contemplative expression as she held her abdomen, pondering what she had eaten that upset her stomach. ‘No, this is not right! My normally punctual period has unexpectedly not come this month!‘
For a moment, Julia was in a daze, her heart racing uncontrollably. ‘Could it be that… I got pregnant on the first try?‘ she thought.
Julia’s heart was racing, and the thought stirred up a whirlwind of emotions.
She forced herself to calm down, lowered her head to rinse her mouth with clear water, and then splashed cold water on her face, trying to calm herself down.
However, as she raised her hand, she saw a handkerchief being handed to her from the side. “Thank you.”
Julia reached out and took it, but her gaze slowly shifted upwards.

She jumped up as if she had seen a ghost. “Joseph?”
