Chapter 24
The room was silent for a moment. The emergency doctor had left long ago.
“Okay, then keep it,” Byron said after a moment.
There was a glimpse of determination on his handsome face, and his eyes turned dark as if he had made a decision without Julia noticing.
Unable to move freely and afraid of her family members noticing something, Julia made a phone call to tell her mother that she would be busy with hospital matters for a while and couldn’t come home.
On the other end of the phone, Julia’s mother sounded slightly worried and disappointed as she carefully urged her daughter to take good care of herself before reluctantly hanging up the phone.
“If you’re not staying with the Lopez family, where will you stay, Julia?” asked Byron.
Julia grinned and said, “The staff dorms. I used to live there before.”
Before she could finish speaking, Byron suddenly stood up. His handsome and delicate features frowned together, and his youthful face was full of seriousness and sincerity.
He stepped forward, held Julia’s shoulder, and said word by word, “Julia, why don’t you move to my place?”
The young man in front of her was just a child to Julia, so she didn’t catch the true meaning behind Byron’s words for a
moment.
“Aren’t you also living in the staff dormitory?” Julia asked.

Byron lightly coughed twice, then his ears slowly picked up a hint of crimson.

After hanging up the phone in satisfaction, Amelie started going upstairs to pick out clothes.

Julia’s old room had a new owner. The wardrobe, which used only to have a few casual clothes, was now packed full.
Joseph had never liked overly flashy outfits. After thinking for a moment, she switched to a black, waist–hugging short skirt. When she went downstairs and saw the maids preparing dinner, she haughtily ordered, “Since the food is ready, you all can leave first. No one is allowed to come back tonight unless you don’t want to get paid this month.”
Since she moved here, she often used the salary to threaten the servants and caregivers to do things for her. They were angry inside but dared not speak. They quickly cleaned up everything in the kitchen, and all left.
Half an hour later, Joseph returned to the villa.
Looking at the quite empty living room, he frowned and said, “Where’s the maid and the caregiver I hired for you?”
Amelie blushed and said with a smile, “I let them off in the afternoon. They were so exhausted in taking care of me, so I can’t always exploit them, right?”
