Chapter 23
On twenty–six pieces of paper, there were twenty–six printed text message records.
Black and white photographs, mixed with long paragraphs of text, all came into Nathen’s view.
Memories surged through his mind, pulling out many recollections from the long–forgotten past.
He looked over them one by one, his gaze first scanning the black and white photographs.
Nathen was familiar with every photo on each piece of paper.
Many of the original documents can still be found in his phone, which had not been turned on for a long time.
After looking at all the images, he felt a tingling sensation slowly emerging at his temples.
It didn’t hurt, but it made him completely awake.
He picked up all the scattered papers, stumbled and climbed up, and returned to the bedroom to turn on the light.
Then I found the phone that had been left in the corner, and while I was charging it, I pressed the
power button.
The phone screensaver was a photo of Melanie, and the password was her birthday.
The few dozen photos of Nathen and Melanie in the album are all from before September.
Since September, there have been no new group photos.
Because of his gaze, he was attracted by another person, and his phone camera would only focus on
that person.
The photos that were taken were hidden by him and can only be unlocked with a password.
The password is Kenna’s birthday.
He pressed a series of numbers, and the screen quickly switched, flashing countless thumbnails
One after another, he slid for a long time before reaching the bottom.
Comparing the blurry image on the paper, Nathen found those photographs.
From the clothing styles, to the location of the photoshoot, and even to the surrounding
⚫ environment, everything can be faithfully compared.
These photos were taken by Kenna with her phone, and then she selected the good ones and sent
them to herself.
The rest was then locked up by him together.

雙
In theory, these photos were not supposed to be seen by a third person.
Because everyone knew, Nathen had a family and a disabled wife.
So whether intentional or unintentional, all the photos in this album cannot be leaked.
Unbeknownst to him, these photos made their way into the hands of his beloved wife, as rumors
spread.
His wife printed them out and left them in the study, waiting for the day when he would personally
dig out these secrets.
These are the secrets that subverted everyone’s understanding and were enough to destroy him.
Melanie knew, but she only told him alone.
She was too cruel.
Too kind–hearted.
The words on the paper, starting from the first sentence in mid–November, carried a strong sense
of provocation.
Nathen only looked at a few pages and never had the courage to flip through the rest.
His hand tightly gripped the edge of the table, and due to excessive force, the veins on his hand
bulged.
Sweat steamed out from every corner of the body, condensing into droplets that quickly soaked the
clothes.
He stood like a sculpture in the silent and empty room.
Only the slight trembling of his nose and eyes could prove that he was still breathing.
A gust of winter wind blew in from outside the window, lifting the white paper on the table and en
letting it fall again.
Crackling and clicking friction sounds, just like pressing the shutter button on a camera.
When the wind stopped, Nathen looked at the white papers scattered all around and felt his stomach
churning.
¡He bent down, holding onto the table, and kept vomiting. But apart from the alcohol he had
consumed the previous night, he didn’t throw up anything, instead exhausting all his strength.
He lay on the ground, looking at the glaring incandescent light, and suddenly started laughing.
There was no laughter heard in the room.

I could only see his mouth stretched to the maximum, and the twitching of the corner of his eye.
He was laughing.
But it gave people the illusion of crying.
