Chapter 3
The next day, Melanie got up very early.
Nathen woke up at ten o’clock and walked out of the bedroom to see her sitting at the desk, writing
something, rubbing her eyes as she approached.
The notebook was filled with densely written notes, and as he read through them line by line, he realized that they were many tasks.
The first thing was to go back to the old house and see it, and gather with friends.
The second thing was to go to the lakeside and feed the pigeons.
The third thing was to get drunk at a bar once…
“Melanie, why did you write down these things?”
Melanie’s hand holding the pen paused for a moment, and she looked up at him.
“Wish List.”
Upon hearing this, Nathen seemed to recall something, a smile forming on his face. “When you
were seventeen, you also wrote wishes…”
Halfway through the conversation, he got stuck and a frustrated expression appeared on his face.
Melanie knew that he felt he had said the wrong thing, bringing up something from the past that
would make her unhappy.
But now she has let go and doesn’t mind, she even takes his call willingly.
“Yeah, back then I wrote down 100 things I wanted to do before turning 18. I wanted to go bungee
jumping, skiing, go rafting, surfing… everything was so crazy. But you were even crazier than me.“”
You not only recorded all the processes for me, but also experienced them with me.
As he listened to her nostalgic tone, Nathan’s mind was filled with many yellowed images, and he
smiled.
Who made me like you so much? No matter what you did, I wanted to follow. Back then, with you by
my side, I was not afraid of anything. I closed my eyes and jumped from a height of several hundred
meters…
Melanie quietly watched him as he danced with excitement.
When his gaze fell upon her, she suddenly uttered a nonsensical sentence.
“Long time no see you smile so happily.”

The smile on Nathen’s face froze.
The atmosphere in the air froze for a few seconds, and he changed the subject.
“Then this time, I will also accompany you to fulfill these wishes, right?”
Melanie shook her head, her tone filled with stubbornness, “This is my wish, it has nothing to do
with you. You’re so busy with work, no need.”
Nathen’s heart skipped a beat as he looked at her plain expression, for some unknown reason.
He wanted to say a few more words, but the phone suddenly rang.
As soon as he opened it, the smile that had just disappeared reappeared.
After dropping the work, he didn’t even look at her expression and turned around to leave the room.
Melanie stared blankly as she watched him walk away.
In the past, she had also rejected him, saying that she wanted to complete the challenge alone.
But he would not agree, and he persistently followed her, using both soft persuasion and stubborn
persistence.
Now, everything has changed.
He didn’t even try to persuade anymore, not even saying clichés like “I’m worried about you.”
They say marriage is the grave of love, but she didn’t believe it at first.
Looking back now, every word seems to be precious.
Their love, before it had a chance to reach the promised future, was abruptly cut short and
destroyed halfway.
Bit by bit, completely worn away, leaving only endless fatigue.
Melanie silently finished writing the list by herself.
Finally, she wrote the words “Bucket List” neatly in the empty space provided in advance.
After putting down the pen, the phone beside it lit up.
It was Kenna who sent the photo this time, sitting in the passenger seat next to Nathen.
When Melanie saw these news before, she felt unbearable pain.
After seeing so much, she didn’t feel anything anymore. She just picked up the notebook beside her and entered the information.
Then she printed it out on a printer, mixed that wish list, and put it in a drawer.

Such provocation records have already been stored in the drawer, which she has been accumulating
over the past few days.

For her, death was a relief.
But that doesn’t mean she was willing to help Nathen and Kenna.
Even if Nathen no longer loved her, he should have been honest with her instead of emotionally
cheating.
Kenna should not have repeatedly provoked.
All that she did was completely different from the description of the wonderful girl in the diary.
Melanie was happy to let Nathen see her true face.
