Chapter 5
Melanie didn’t expect to run into him here.
She did not answer him and instead asked back, “Do you have something to do here?”
Nathen’s expression changed slightly, and a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.
“I was having dinner with friends nearby when I happened to see you, so I got out of the car to say hello.”
As soon as the words fell, the car door was pushed open, and Kenna walked with a smile between the two people.
“Nathen, is this your sister–in–law?”
Nathen didn’t expect her to come down, and his heart became even more anxious, but he still forced himself to introduce calmly.
“Melanie, this is… my friend, Kenna.”
Kenna politely extended her hand and greeted, “Hello, sister–in–law. Going through all this trouble to come out, is there something you need?”
Melanie pretended not to see, lowered her head, and said softly, “Just fulfilling a birthday wish, getting ready for a photoshoot.”
Upon hearing this, Kenna’s eyes lit up instantly.
“Taking photos? Can you take me with you? I have a good eye and can give you some advice.”
Melanie glanced at Nathen and, seeing that he didn’t say anything, she didn’t refuse.
Three people got in the car, with Melanie sitting alone in the back seat, looking at the scenery
outside the window.
At first, the carriage was very quiet, Nathen felt suppressed and dared not speak much.
After a while, Kenna took the initiative to bring up a topic and started talking about the recently
released movies.
Out of politeness, he responded with a few sentences, and coincidentally, she talked about things
that interested him.
- Gradually, he was led astray and momentarily forgot that there was someone in the back seat.
When they arrived at their destination, he immediately got out of the car and left with Kenna.

Watching their figures gradually recede into the distance, Melanie pushed the wheelchair beside her off the car and struggled to climb onto it, pushing the wheelchair to catch up.

Three people, one in front and two behind, had just reached the entrance when the greeter walked up to Nathen and Kenna with a smile,
“Sir and Madam, I see that you have come to take wedding photos. I believe that both of you, with
your handsome appearance and beautiful looks, are very suitable…”
Upon hearing the words “wedding dress,” Nathen instinctively furrowed his brow.
“What nonsense are you talking about? My wife is behind me.”
The receptionist’s face showed an embarrassed expression and quickly apologized.
“You two really look like a couple, and you were chatting all the time. That’s why I made a mistake,
I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Upon hearing this, Nathen realized and quickly walked over to Melanie, his face filled with guilt.
Kenna turned back with an apologetic expression on her face and said, “I’m sorry, sister–in–law. We got so engrossed in our conversation that I forgot about you. Why didn’t you remind us a few times?”
Melanie silently watched them singing in harmony, feeling a bit tired and not saying anything.
When she was young, she and Nathen used to talk and share everything, without keeping any
secrets.
Back then, they chatted about the future, talked about dreams…
But now, there is only a relative silence.
The atmosphere was a bit strange for a moment.
The receptionist had a keen eye and quickly stepped forward to mediate.
“Excuse me, what theme did you want to shoot?”
Nathen and Kenna’s gaze fell upon Melanie.
After hearing her say the words “life photos” with a flat expression, Kenna’s eyes welled up and she
came up with an idea.
“Sister–in–law, you go and pick the clothes first. Since you have difficulty moving around, Nathen and I will take a few shots to see how to pose. It will be much easier for you to follow and take photos later.”
Without waiting for Melanie’s consent, she dragged the person to the studio.
t first, Nathen was very reluctant, but Kenna was always by his side, guiding him on his stance. Gradually, he was also infected and started to cooperate.

The two people took several photos in front of the camera and were not satisfied.
Renna tiptoed and pinched his face, playfully asking him to smile.
He looked at the liveliness in her eyes and showed an indulgent simile,
