Chapter 127
RAMON’S POV
I was preparing to go to the packs centre where the punishment would be held, when my room door pushed open, and someone stormed in.
Reflexively, my body whipped around to find lvy, breathing heavily.
“Really? Public whipping?” She almost screamed the room off.
“Lower your voice!” I hissed.
“You know you don’t give a lot of wrong declarations, but this one? This one-
“And what would you have me do! Take the side of a stranger over my wolf’s side?”
“She’s your mate. Your fated mate!” She stomped her foot.
“What exactly does that change? I don’t want her to be my mate. If she doesn’t want to be punished, she has to learn to ignore provocations.
Ivy threw her head back in a cackle, and I moved back, quite disturbed by her reaction.
“You know she was provoked, yet you carry on with this punishment? And what did she even do wrong? Whatever retaliation that happened. I carried out. If there’s anyone that should be punished, it should be me alone!”
I moved forward purposefully, speaking through clenched teeth. “Don’t test my Tvy. I know you’re friends with her, but you went too far this time, She lowered her gaze, in honour, but I could feel her eyes still spitting fire.
“You’re always going to be my brother, and I love you for that. But if you carry on with this senseless punishment, I’ll begin to question the alpha you are,” she turned around, and walked to the door. “If not for anything else, for the mere fact she’s the reason the pack is safe today, everyone of you should be thanking her.”
She slammed the door hard, and I signed, running a hand through my hair.
This was an impossible situation. I would much rather be in the fields, plotting to bring me Jack’s head with my beta and Omega, than being stuck in this situation.
Ivy wouldn’t back down, even though I had a plan that would provide an escape from the punishment.
But as long as Sonia would remain punished, she would never agree to my plan.
If I was going to stop her from being punished, I had to stop Sonia too,
Taking a deep breath, I prepared myself for the battle ahead.
Clash of packs, haunt down of deadly beasts, chopping of heads in battle ground, all very brutal acts. Still, none compared to the complications of situations, whenever women were involved.
I shook my head, and continued out the door.
When I arrived at the pack centre, my wolves broke into a loud cheer.
My eyes took a quick glance at the podium, set for the ones who were to be punished.
Ivy had arrived, and she was holding on to Sonia’s hands,
I still could not understand why she had such loving allinity for S
Sonia. It did my head in, everytime I tried to think of a reason..
“Settle down everyone,” I gestured with my hand, and my wolves went quiet. “Today is an exciting day. I can feel the excitement in the air.” From the c
corner of my eyes, I caught the moment Ivy rolled her eyes.
It was subtle, yet so obvious to me. A smile was forming on my face because of that act. But I knew I had to hold it back.
My
y vision went to Sonia, and she looked composed. I would have thought she’d be more scared than she was showing

She also looked breathtaking, letting the sum kiss her hair like that. I knew if I continued to stare, I would never go on with my speech.
“I don’t want to bore you all with a long speech, because I already know what you gathered here to witness. And in the spirit of togetherness. I would like to make a declaration.”
The crowd grew silent, and there was suddenly tension in the air.
I looked at Sonia again, and noticed she was smilin
My eyes followed the direction of her smile, and saw Moon waving at her.
He was making funny faces, enough to crack her up.
My hand folded into a fist, as I fought off a thunderous growl threatening to escape from my depths.
Before everyone grew suspicious of my sudden silence, I began to speak again
“I would love to make a declaration,” I continued where I left off. “We’ve not had a good trail at blood moon in a very long time. It has to come to my notice, with hard evidence that this wasn’t a one party crime. It wasn’t even a two party crime. I’d like to think our pack is known for fairness. yeah?”
They chanted a positive response, all in sync.
I smiled, and nodded. “Then it won’t be wrong to bring this case to trial so that every party involved can prove their innocence?”
I waited for the protest from the crowd. It was anticipated, because of their feelings towards Sonia
But when it didn’t come, and instead, they began to clap in agreement, I was left a little speechless.
I felt Sonia’s eyes on me, and returned her stare.
There was confusion written all over her face. She couldn’t understand my decision, clearly
She turned to Ivy, and then turned back to me,
1 saw the moment her expression shifted. I could read her like a book.
She thought I was only doing this because Ivy was involved. She obviously didn’t believe I would try to help her escape a punishment she wouldn’t
be serving
“What are your motives?” that damn judgemental voice returned.
Why did I need to be accountable to anyone? I didn’t have to have a motive to do whatever the heck I wanted to do.
I am the alpha, and my word is law.
She lowered her gaze, and it felt like a kick to my stomach.
I felt this urge to explain I was trying to save her. It came out of nowhere, and
every part of me.
“Well, you’ve answered my question then,” the voice said.
I swallowed my saliva, because I didn’t have an honest rebuttal
Turning around, I proceeded to the trial room, for the start of what was sure to be an interesting ordeal
