Chapter 29
SONIA’S POV
I didn’t know what was happening. All I knew was one second I was waiting in my room for ivy to return, after Lorena had stormed out of the house with the promise of telling the alpha the twins had been compromised, and the next, all of these
servants came to the.
They said Ramon had sent them to dress me up because I was having dinner with him tonight.
I wasn’t expecting any of this. I would rather have spent my time alone, without any food. Lorena had tossed the pie in the trash, leaving me hungry the whole day.
But if hunger would have been enough for me to remain in my room, I would have preferred it than this invasion of my body.
First, they led me to the bathroom and scrubbed me from head down to my toes. Then they brought me out, and began to massage my body.
They had questioned the scar on my face, and that was how I knew my potion worked, because there was no question of the
one on my neck.
I told them I hit my cheeks on a wall. They obviously didn’t believe me, but pretended to. I couldn’t see what they added, but whatever it was had done a good job of covering the redness.
I was starting to get concerned about my injuries not healing without additional help. Day by day, my wolf grew weaker. No matter what I did, there was no helping her if I couldn’t even get proper food.
Rest was one thing, but food was the fuel she needed. Unfortunately, it had been taken away from me.
If things continued this way, my wolf would be unable to carry on in no distant time.
A brush was brought to my hair, and I couldn’t help but wince in pain as they started to brush it.
I couldn’t tell them it was still sore from the dragging it received. It would be my word against Lorena’s, and nobody was going to believe me over her. Especially not Ramon.
I didn’t know I was crying, until the woman brushing my hair, paused, and lowered her head.
“Are you alright, child?” She asked.
“I am I forced a smile.
“But you’re crying.” She pointed out.
That was when I realised I was indeed crying.
“My scalp is really soft. I guess it just hurts with all that brushing.”
“I’m so sorry, child. I’ll be more gentle.”
An oil was placed on my scalp, and it soothed it so much, I closed my eyes and just felt its softness
The brush went milder into my hair, and I sighed.
Soon, they were done with my hair. I was brought to my feet and led to my bed where my dress was.
The silver glittery dress sparkled in my eyes. It had been a long time since anyone pampered me this much.
I was beginning to suspect there was more to it than showed.
Kamon couldn’t have just sent them to do this for me because he was feeling nice. There had to be something involved.
As I stepped into the dress, my heart began to thump loudly against my chest.

Things were getting real
I was drawn to the mirror, and I heard them begin to gasp and howl.
“Oh My God ma’am, you’re so stunning!”
I couldn’t help but smile. I did look like the old me. The thought brought tears to my eyes.
“Are you ready?” I was asked.
I didn’t know who was asking, but I nodded anyway, I was turned around, and led out of my r
room.
There was a car outside, waiting to drive me. I wish I could ask where I was being driven to, but who was going to answer me?
I missed Ivy dearly. She would have at least explained the reason for all of this. I was left in my confusion, so I closed my eyes. and waited until we arrived.
A thought crossed my mind, and I shuddered. What if my father had come? What if he had finally decided to settle the dispute so I could return to the pack? It would explain why Ramon decided to clean me up.
Perhaps, he didn’t want my father thinking he had tortured me.
If it were so, then I would go with the arrangement. I would pretend like my life depended on it, because it did. If I had to put on the best act of my entire life, I would do it gleefully.
I suddenly became optimistic. My father was around, and he was here to fetch me.
With that thought in mind, I let go of my fears, and just embraced the unknown. Soon, Ramon would be a thing of the past.
When I am back with my father, we could discuss how to sever the fated mate bond. There had to be something done about it. I didn’t want to be tied to Ramon forever. I just couldn’t
I felt the wheels roll to a stop, and opened my eyes. It was right in front of Ramons quarters. I couldn’t forget the opulence, so of course I remembered the building, and all its intricate details and designs.
My side of the door was opened, and I stepped out of the car. There was someone there to welcome me, and usher me in.
As we drew closer to the room I suspected we were headed to, jazz music drafted into my ears. It made me remember a day Freya and I ran to spy on a festival. I had heard so many songs that day, and they all stuck with me.
This one playing was one of those songs. Absent–mindedly, I began to hum along.
“You have a nice voice, ma’am,” The man who had not spoken a word to me since he acknowledged me with a greeting when I stepped out of the car, said.
I smiled. “Thank you.”
He suddenly stopped by a door, where the music was even louder, and opened it. My breath caught against my chest when I
saw Ramon
He was seated on a throne of diamonds, watching as a band entertained him. I didn’t know the pack had a band, but they sang just as well as the music I heard in that festival.
He looked up, and our eyes met and held. I saw an expression flash across his eyes, but I couldn’t tell what it was.
I began to move forward as the music upped his tempo, my eyes still locked on his.
He was by far the most handsome man I had ever seen. Too bad he was just as horrible as he was handsome.
But as I drew close to his table, I felt the same pain I had felt in my thoughts. My gaze moved away from him, and drifted
beside him.
There she was, the alpha. The alpha Daisy. The pain was deeper now, as she stared at me like I was a redemption.
I stopped in front of her, and before I could stop myself, I grabbed her shoulders. “What happened to you?” I asked, unable to
