Chapter 5
Chapter 5
After leaving the hospital, my men got me back to the company without a hitch.
Barely stepped inside when my phone started blowing up. It was the old man.
“Lucien! Where the hell are you?”
On the other end of the line, he shouted, “You sent some punks to the hospital, and they attacked my men! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
Punks? Yeah, right. He thought my guys were street thugs. Well, I don’t wanna bother explaining.
With a tone as cold as his, I replied, “Mr. Graham, whatever I do is none of your business.”
My response made him instantly growl, “Get back to the hospital right now!”
“If you don’t, don’t even think about stepping foot in the villa again!”

I laughed, sharp and bitter, at his threat. “Mr. Graham, I think you’ve got it wrong. I never planned on going back to your family in the first place.”
With that, I hung up.
But he kept calling. Over and over. And I
didn’t even hesitate–blocked his number.
But not even five minutes later, Ingrid was calling.
“Lucien, come back, please!”
She added, “Your dad and I are waiting for you here at the hospital. Son, listen, the doctor said your health isn’t looking good!”
Her voice sounded concerned.
“Nah, you’ve got nothing to worry about me. My health’s just fine.”
Then, I added flatly, “Unless, of course, you’re just looking to cut me open for Dave’s kidney.”
The line went silent for a second before she

blurted, panicked, “L–Lucien… how… how did you know?”
I didn’t bother answering. Just hung up on
her too.
Their little plan? Yeah, I saw right through it. I wasn’t wasting another second on
them.
A few moments later, my secretary hurried in, handing me a stack of documents.
“President, we looked into it. Dave’s
investments have been unsuccessful, and G Industries is facing significant financial. difficulties. In fact, William previously contacted you with a request to borrow funds.”
I took the files, skimming through them as a cold smile spread across my face.
Over the last five years, I’ve expanded my
company.
I built it into the biggest name in the city. I stayed behind the curtain the whole time-

nobody, not even William, knew I was the founder and CEO.
The G Industries‘ finances were already crumbling, and they had no way out. When William tried to borrow money from me,
he dragged me back into the villa before we
could make a deal.
Now, I’m their only lifeline.
If I agree to lend them money, they might just survive.
But if I don’t? Their company’s bankruptcy will follow.
When I first went back, I was willing to consider helping them out. For blood ties, if nothing else. If they’d shown me even a sliver of respect, maybe I would’ve just put Dave in his place and left it at that.
But now I see it for what it is. This whole family is rotten.
They don’t care about me, so I’ve got no reason to hold back.

“Reject their request for the loan. And terminate every single contract we have
with them. Now.”
I instructed my secretary with my voice
cold and firm.
The second those deals are terminated, the Grahams‘ problems are gonna pile up fast.
After giving my orders, I leaned back, planning to take a quick break, but then my phone rang again.
