Chapter 4
Celeste’s POV
The following days passed in a quiet routine. My parents gave me space, but their presence was always nearby, a comfort I desperately needed. Each day, I took long walks around the pack grounds. as I breathed in the familiar scents and letting the memories of my childhood come back to me.
One afternoon, as I walked near the training grounds, I heard a familiar laugh. When I turned to see the voice owner, I saw a tall figure with broad shoulders and a bright, easy smile that lit up his face. Immediately, I knew who that person was.
That voice belonged to Albert Starfire, my childhood friend and my parents‘ choice for the next Alpha of the Ivory Fang Pack.
“Celeste! You‘ re back!” he called, jogging over with a grin.

I couldn’t help but smiled, feeling a bit of the weight lift from my heart, and responded, “Albert, it’s been a while.”
He stopped in front of me, looking me over with genuine warmth in his eyes, as he said, “I thought you’d forgotten about us here in the Ivory Fang Pack. How’s life as Luna?”
The question made my smile falter slightly, but I kept my tone light as I answered,
“It‘ s… complicated. But I’m glad to be back here for a while.”
When Albert heard my reply, he knew that something was wrong as he said, “If you ever need to talk or, I don’t know, spar to let out some frustration, you know where to find me.”
His sincere words made me happy. It had been a long time I ever felt at peace, knowing that everyone cared about me. Unlike my time at the Dark Night Pack when I knew that no one cared about me even my own husband, Leo.

“Thank you, Albert,” I told him sincerely.
As both Albert and I continued to talk, I felt something stir within me. Somehow, it felt like a light warmth or, rather, a spark. But I wasn’t prepared to what I would hear from my wolf.
My wolf, Elia, seemed to react to Albert in a way she hadn’t in a long time. Her voice echoed softly in my mind. It was indescribable.
‘Mate,‘ my wolf told me, which shocked
- me.
I took a shaky breath, wondering if what I felt could be real. Could Albert be my
second chance? But there was no way that could happen. After all, I had never heard. about second fated mate.
Meanwhile, Albert seemed to notice my change in expression. Again, Elia softly howled inside of me. This never even happened with Leo, which confused me
even more.

I noticed how his eyes softened as he asked me, “Celeste, are you alright?”
The only thing I could do was nod
my
head, but I was still unsure of how to explain.
Eventually, I ended up saying, “I think… I’m finding a part of myself again, bit by bit.”
“That’s good to hear, Celeste. Sometimes, coming back to where it all started is exactly what we need,” he said.
When I heard it, I realized that it was very true to what I had experienced. Sometimes, the only thing we needed was to go back to where it all started. In my case, it would mean that going back to my original pack, wouldn‘ tit?
Somehow, I felt freer than ever after that.
As the days turned into weeks, I grew closer to Albert. We spent more time
together, talking about the past and sharing our hopes for the future. Each day, I

realized that the warmth inside me grew.
One thing I was surely know of was that Albert was a total contrast to my estranged husband. My childhood friend was sympathetic, reliable, funny, and attentive while Leo was dismissive, unreliable, cold, and serious. That really hurt my heart when I realized what I had gone through because of Leo.
Deep inside my heart, I knew that Elia‘ s instincts were rarely wrong. With every passing moment, I felt more certain that the Moon Goddess‘ s words had been true. Happiness was waiting for me here in the Ivory Fang Pack with a new person.
On one evening, both Albert and I were sitting by the castle as we stargazed like what we did in the past. Then, Albert turned to me and looked at me seriously.
“Celeste, I know you‘ ve been through so much. I can see it in your eyes. But I want you to know… I’m here, whenever
you‘ re ready,” he told me sincerely.

I looked into his warm and steady gaze, feeling a sense of peace settle over me. Again, what Elia said kept being repeated in my mind. Could it be that Albert was my second fated mate?
After a long silence, I eventually said,
“Thank you, Albert. That means more than you know.”
We sat in comfortable silence. For me, it felt as if the weight of my past slowly fading. It was being replaced by the new future I had.
‘Is this love, Elia?‘ I asked my wolf who responded by howling excitedly.
It felt beautiful, but I knew I had to confront my past before I could move on with my future. That would mean that I had to sever my mating bond from Leo. And I would do that, no matter what.
‘Moon Goddess, please give me strength to do this, I said as I made a prayer to the Moon Goddess, followed by Elia who

I really hoped everything would be alright.
