She had stuffed the potatoes she disliked into the garbage bag she gave me. There was nothing left in the fridge except for a few leaves of
vegetables.
The freezer was also empty. When she opened it, her eyes went blank.
With no other choice, she made a simple noodle soup.
But as soon as she brought it out, Derek slapped her.
“Bitch, you want me to eat this?”
His stomach had been spoiled by me these past few days, and the weather was so hot.
With no one else around, he didn’t bother maintaining his false facade anymore.
He had never had a good temper to begin with, and seeing this, his anger flared up.
My sister fell to the ground from his slap, covering her face pitifully: “What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it for you tonight?”
Derek’s face showed obvious impatience as he flipped over the bowl in front of him.
“Damn woman, go now.”
Lily looked at the blazing sun outside and mumbled, “The sun is so strong outside. Didn’t the TV say people have died from the heat?”
As soon as she finished speaking, her face received another slap: “So you want to starve me to death?”
Lily shook her head repeatedly and got up to push her own bowl of noodles towards him.
But as soon as she pushed it over, it was flipped onto the ground again.
Derek roared angrily: “Do you believe I’ll beat you to death?”
Then I saw my sister clutching her head and hurriedly leaving.

Having not been out for several days, she had no idea of the true situation outside. At this point, even a box of instant noodles co than a thousand dollars.
When she returned, her entire body had been scorched, losing a layer of skin.
Her lips were pale.
Seeing that she had only brought back a box of instant noodles, Derek completely lost it.
“You useless woman, you’re good for nothing.”
His big foot kicked her several times. My sister curled up in the corner, tears streaming down her face, not daring to make a sound.
She kept apologizing: “Honey, I’m sorry, I was wrong, I was wrong,”
“Please stop hitting me.”
