At the Potter Mansion, Debra watched the news coverage of Shelia’s funeral on the TV.
She glanced at Andrew and said, “Come on. Is this really necessary?”
The volume was so loud it seemed like he had cranked it up just for her. She didn’t know before that Andrew was so into gossip.
‘Sorry, I just turned it on randomly,” Andrew replied, deliberately turning the volume further
- up.
The corner of Debra’s lips twitched. “Is there something you want to say?”
“Strangely, Juan is not at the funeral,” he replied, rewinding the footage a few times.
Melody and others were present, but Juan was nowhere to be seen.
Andrew added, “His wife’s dead, and he doesn’t even show up. Could the rumors be true? Did he kill her?”
“What are you talking about?” Debra was puzzled.
Andrew turned to her and said, “You haven’t heard? Maybe I shouldn’t say more.”
Debra didn’t buy his act. “Didn’t you say that just for me to hear? Why don’t you go ahead and tell me what is going on?”
Andrew leaned back and explained, “When Shelia’s body was found, there was evidence her skull had been pierced by a bullet. Although the rest of her was burned, the cause of death was clear. Think about it. Who could freely enter the Nichols Mansion with a gun? Isn’t Juan the most obvious suspect?”
“Juan would never kill Shelia. That’s absurd,” Debra said firmly, refusing to believe it.
In her mind, whether it was in their previous life or this one, Juan was not someone who enjoyed violence or bloodshed.
In her past life, Juan didn’t kill Shelia despite his hatred toward her. He had no–reason to kill Shelia and burn down his house in this life.
“I don’t know the specifics,” Andrew said. “But if this news gets out, the Nichols family will face attacks from all sides, and Juan will be in serious trouble.”
“I’ve already cut ties with Juan,” the

with me.”
“But I heard that Juan promised to hand over the Nichols Group to you in three months. Are you still planning to take it?” Andrew asked.
“We’ve signed the contract. Of course, I’ll take it,” Debra replied, sitting down on the sofa.

Andrew smirked and said, “Juan may have promised to hand the company over, but he hasn’t held a shareholders‘ meeting yet. The shareholders might not agree to let him step down. However, if he’s accused of murdering Shelia, he’ll have no choice but to resign. Then taking over the Nichols Group would be a seamless process for you.”
Debra looked up and said dryly, “You’ve certainly thought this through.”
“It’s nothing,” he replied.
Debra narrowed her eyes. “But how did you find out about Juan’s promise to me? I don’t recall telling you.”
“I have eyes and ears,” Andrew said with a faint smile.
