Late at night, Barton brought Juan to Andrew’s study.
The mansion was quiet, with no one on guard. Andrew was seated there at case, and Juan. asked, “Aren’t you worried about being found out?.
Erica, Randy, Garland, and Liza were all staying there. And if Debra and Marion came back, his meeting with Andrew would be exposed.
Andrew casually replied, “Marion is in the hospital getting treated. They won’t be back anytime soon.”
“What about Garland and Liza?”
“Isn’t Garland your sidekick? You think he’ll rat you out?”
Andrew always seemed to have everything under control, and it was hard to read his mind.
Barton invited Juan to sit down and poured him some tea.
Andrew said, “Debra must hate you to the core because of your actions. With all this media attention, you would have to step down. Are you really fine with that?”
“I’ve wanted to quit for a long time,” Juan replied. “I don’t believe you don’t want to retire.”
The burden of the Potter family would crush anyone else within three days. Only someone as capable as Andrew could hold on.
Andrew leaned back in his chair. “But Debra isn’t stupid. Your sudden attack today will make her suspicious of your motives.”
“In her mind, I’m the kind of person who puts the family’s interests above all else. She might suspect my methods, but she won’t suspect my motives.” Juan paused, putting down his teacup. “The rest is up to you.”
With this arranged up, Debra would take over the Nichols Group with no obstacles.
She had the backing of the Four Great Families, owned the McKinney Group, and was once Mrs. Nichols. She had Marion’s help and the agreement in hand. Presumably, the shareholders would quickly abandon him, the disgraced CEO who murdered his wife.
Money was what mattered to the shareholders, not the Nichols family name.
Andrew said, “You don’t need to worry about that. But you’ll have to lie low for a few days. I’ve prepared a private residence for you in the suburbs. Stay there for a while.”
“Acting in a play and getting a private residence? This is more profitable than being a CEO,” Juan quipped, standing up.
The heavy burden was finally off his shoulders. Looking back, he had never lived for himself.

Barton opened the door for Juan. Without looking back, he waved his hand. “Andrew, I hope one day you can unburden yourself like I have.”
“Unburdening yourself physically is one thing, but unburdening your heart is another. Juan, what’s trapping you isn’t the Nichols Group. It’s yourself.”
Andrew turned his chair around. “Barton, see our guest off.”
At the staircase, Juan spotted Garland in cartoon pajamas. “What are you doing there?”
