Marion was equally astonished.
Debra asked him, “So, you’ve been setting up the venue abroad?”
“I don’t know.” Marion frowned in doubt.
This wasn’t his plan. He had chosen a domestic hotel as the wedding venue.
“Caleb pulled a fast one, as usual,” Erica chimed, coming downstairs in her bridesmaid’s gown. “He probably wants to give you an unforgettable wedding.”
Walking beside her, Randy reminded them, “There are three hours left for you to try on wedding gowns. You need to finish within the time limit, or Caleb might make you stand at attention as punishment.”
Debra felt like the Houston family had raised the alert level to DEFCON 1. This didn’t feel like a wedding at all. It was more like a mission to complete.
“Madam, we have 12 models with similar body types to yours. They’ll be at your service,” said the attendant.
Debra understood the implication. She had three hours to select 12 satisfying ones from the one thousand gowns. With a helpless smile, she sprang to action.
Erica shook her head. “Caleb really pampers you, but this time limit thing? It’s his old habit for decades.”
When she was little, Caleb also doted on her. For one birthday party, he had prepared an entire room full of beautiful dresses for her to choose from. The problem was that she only needed
up with one dress for the birthday, but she got so caught up in choosing that she ended decision paralysis.
Now Debra was facing a similar situation.
Three hours later, Debra finally selected 12 wedding dresses. The car arrived, ready to take them to the airport.
Marion glanced at Debra, who was leaning on his shoulder. “Tired?”
“Exhausted,” Debra replied, “Caleb really knows how to wear people out. At his age, he’s still experimenting on romance.”
“If you don’t like this wedding, we can skip it,” Marion muttered.
“No, I like it.” Debra straightened up and said, “Besides, I’ve selected the dresses. We can’t just go back.”
She saw his helpless smile and added, “Actually, I liked all the dresses in that room. It’s a shame I won’t have the chance to wear them after the wedding.

Marlon tapped her forehead. “You can wear them but you can only marry me.”
The car stopped at the airport. After getting out, Erica moved quickly to grab Debra. Randy did the same with Marion,
Erica explained, “Caleb has given his orders. It’s custom that you guys can’t meet on the night before the wedding.”
Marion objected, “I don’t agree.‘
“Too bad. Caleb has more authority, and his temper’s worse,” Randy said, dragging him toward another plane.
Debra tried to persuade Erica. “Erica”
“Don’t look at me. I’m just following Caleb’s orders. We’re taking this plane,” she said, pulling Debra toward the aircraft.
