Erica nearly choked on the food when she heard that. “Bro, your left hand is injured. What’s that got to do with your right hand?”
“That hand hurts too,” Marion lied without batting an eyelid.
“Is it injured too? Let me see,” Debra said, quickly checking his right hand.
Stunned, Randy dropped his fork. “Come on. Can’t you see he’s faking it?”
“Faking it?” Debra examined Marion’s hand and saw no injuries.
Debra dropped his hand and said, “Then feed yourself.”
“I want you to feed me,” Marion whined.
Erica got goosebumps all over, unwilling to believe the man in front of her was really Marion.
She put down her fork and knife. “Should we give you guys the room?”
She winked at Randy, who immediately took the hint. “Right, we’ve got stuff to do. There’s a mess in Seamar City we need to sort out. We should go.”
While feeding Marion, Debra sighed, “Stop messing with me.
“We shouldn’t interrupt your quality time,” Erica explained.
Right now, Marion only had eyes for Debra. She didn’t want to be the third wheel.
Debra said, “Marion needs to stay in the hospital for a while, so we can’t go back to Seamar City right away. Could you and Randy keep an eye on things for us back home?”
Randy stood up abruptly. “Well, we can’t really handle Theda. She is ruthless. Only Marion and you can match her.”
“I know it’s tough, cousin–in–law,” Debra said, “but please hold the fort for a couple of days. I promise we’ll rush back to Seamar City as soon as possible.”
Randy’s spirit perked up immediately. “Hold on. What did you just call me?”
“Cousin–in–law.”
“Say it again.”
“Cousin–in–law.”

“Debra, don’t just throw that term around.” Erica blushed.
Randy proudly declared, “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of everything. Theda won’t stand a chance.”
Debra was happy that her trick had worked. “I knew you’d help us.”
“Randy…” Erica tried to protest.
“Their business is our business. Don’t worry. I’ll handle everything. You don’t need
to stress about it,” Randy assured her.
