“Tabby, can we meet at the entrance of Bellmont University? Is that okay?”
Gwen suddenly remembered that it wasn’t the best time for her to go out.
“Where are you? I’ll send someone to pick you up.
An hour later, outside the Savant Group building, the reporters hadn’t left yet. They were eagerly waiting for Gwen to make an appearance and hoping to capture more footage.
A vehicle pulled up just then, and three bright–eyed children stepped out.
The sharp–eyed reporters quickly recognized the girl at the front as Millie Parker, this year’s top scorer in the Bellmont SAT. The two boys behind her were no slouches either–Ray Cross, who had the highest score in the science track, and Gabriel Lane, who had won the New Concept Essay Prize.
All three had faint surgical scars on their upper lips from surgeries for congenital cleft lips.
When the exam results were announced in June, the SAT was a hot topic on the internet, competing with celebrity scandals.
The cameras and microphones were immediately directed at the trio.
“Congratulations to Millie, Ray, and Gabriel for scoring so highly and gaining admission to Bellmont University.”
Typically, children with facial imperfections might feel self–conscious in front of the camera. However, Millie, Ray, and Gabriel faced the questions with relaxed smiles, embodying the spirit of diligent students.

“You three have come from the poorest village to attend the prestigious Bellmont University. That spirit is commendable. Could you share your secret to success?”
“We have a warm Tabby supporting us.”
“She funded all our schooling expenses and arranged for specialists to perform surgeries on children with congenital cleft lips in our area.”
“She’s been a guiding light for us.”
Although the reporters were usually ready to spread rumors and engage in speculation, their conscience remain intact when speaking to the youths. They would choose their words carefully.
They were already aware of the backgrounds of these three children. Not only did they live in a remote area, but they were also orphans. Due to poor medical conditions in their village, many congenital cleft lip cases went unnoticed at birth.
The benefactor known as Tabby had funded surgeries for nearly a thousand children with congenital cleft. lips and had given these kids the opportunity to study and leave their village.
“Can you tell us Tabby’s identity? We want to interview her.” All the reporters were keen to find out who Tabby was.
Millie and her friends shook their heads. “We don’t know who she is. She has always encouraged us silently through messages, and we came this time to meet her.”
They then followed the person who came to pick them up and entered the Savant Group building.
The reporters were astonished.

“Of course! A kind–hearted person like that must be an outstanding mid–level manager.”
“That makes sense. We can’t let this chance slip by today!”
“Exactly! We need to stay put and wait for those kids to come out!”
Millie and her friends followed a suited man to the top floor.
Upon seeing Gwen, they were so surprised they couldn’t speak.
Seeing the three kids stunned into silence, Gwen stood up, opened her arms, and smiled, “Kids, I’m Gwen Lawson. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“You’re Tabby!”
Ray was the first to regain his composure, realizing that the glamorous lady before him was the one who had been encouraging him through messages. As a young man now, he felt his face warm up.
“You’re so beautiful…” Millie couldn’t help but exclaim, and her eyes sparkled with admiration.
“You really look just like the big sister I imagined.” Gabriel grinned widely, showing his bright white teeth. The three kids were a bit shy and hesitant to step forward for a hug, but Gwen took the initiative to wrap them all in her arms, and her voice was filled with pride. “You are my pride!”
This statement opened the floodgates to their emotions, reminding them of the hardships they endured to reach this point. They couldn’t hold back their tears!
“Gwen, we did it.”
“Those questions were tough, but I kept pushing through because I thought of your encouragement.”
“Thank you.”
Gwen gently ruffled their hair. “I know you’re all amazing!”
Suddenly, Millie remembered the trending topic from earlier that day and asked, “Gwen, are you the one that everyone online is criticizing?”
