Later on, I forgot all about Tiffany. I had a
happy life with Sarah. I had forgotten all the
stuff that happened before. Ten months later,
Sarah gave birth to a little girl. On her
hundredth day celebration, Sarah was
く
showing off our daughter. She looked so
happy.
I watched them, feeling so content. A waiter
came over to give me a present, “This came. for you.” I thought it must have been a friend
of Sarah’s. Inside was a gold lock. And a
men’s ring. It looked very familiar. Mike, who was next to me, said, “Isn’t this the ring that
Tiffany sent you on your wedding day? She
asked me to give it back to you, after you.
turned it down.”
I was speechless. I held the ring in my hands.
A few minutes later, I ran outside, but was too
late. Tiffany was gone, I saw her car speeding
away. Mike followed me outside and said, “If
only she had done this sooner. Maybe things
would have been different for you two.”
I shook my head and laughed, “What are you saying, there is no if.‘
We went back into the hall. Sarah came over to hug me, “Do I have something on my face? Why are you staring at me?”
I shook my head and snuggled into her arms, “I was so lucky not to have missed out on
you.”
I didn’t miss out on my true happiness.
