I felt a chill run down my spine, “Tiffany, I’m
not your honey. I’m her honey and we are
married.” I pointed to Sarah.
<
Tiffany just stared at me, her face white. I
regretted it a little bit. She was such a spoiled
rich girl. What if she did something reckless? I
stood there, feeling uneasy, figuring out how
to get her out of there, when Sarah called out
my name.
My anxiety was rising, but I didn’t show it. I
was just thinking of Tiffany’s cold expression
and how much my wedding was at risk. Sarah
didn’t see it. She just snuggled up in my arms, “Don’t wander off too far, okay?” She
patted my shoulder, “Don’t worry. I’m not
going anywhere.”
I hugged Sarah tight. Her heartbeat calmed
my nerves. I smiled and nodded. “Okay.”

she even tripped. What is up with that
Tiffany?”
I shook my head and held Sarah’s hand tight.
I didn’t let go. We had relied on each other as
kids, and we had grown to love each other.
Now, we were together. It didn’t matter what
happened with anyone else, the most
important thing was that I was with the
woman I loved.

When Tiffany left, she asked Mike to give me
a ring. Mike scoffed, “She knows now to get
a ring? Where was she back then?” Mike
didn’t like Tiffany. He was always against us
being together. Tiffany had given me
expensive gifts. She had even said that if she
were to give me anything, it would be a ring.
But she hadn’t.
One time, Mike had joked with Tiffany, “When
are you going to get a ring? Tao will pay for
it.” Tiffany made a call, and a driver showed
up a few minutes later with a designer bracelet. Mike was furious. “I’m talking about a ring! Tao has been with you all these years. Is he not worth a ring?”
Tiffany had her hand on the back of my chair
