Chapter 20
Kelly had gotten Terence and Halley a room with a double bed. Terence turned to leave, saying, “I’ll ask the receptionist for another room.”
Hailey stopped him. “Aunt Kelly can’t keep her mouth shut about these things. She’ll definitely tell Grandpa about this when we get back if she finds out we’re not staying in the same room.”
He didn’t even look at her, sidestepping her to leave.
*Terence!”
Only then did he stop and look at her, his gaze indifferent and uncaring. “So what? The whole family knows I’m mad at you for the groom switch–it makes sense that we’re not sharing a room.
“Besides, what does it matter if Grandpa finds out? You’re the one who caused this, aren’t you? No divorced couple would share a room. You might not mind, but the thought of it disgusts me.”
Hailey couldn’t bring herself to say anything else. Terence ignored her and headed to the reception to get
a new room.
When Kelly came out after changing into a bathrobe and grabbing a towel for the hot springs,
she saw Terence and Hailey come out from different rooms. A trace of confusion flashed in her eyes, but she seemed to think of something and kept her mouth shut.
The hot springs Kelly had reserved were private–there was only a fence between the men’s and women’s ho
ngs.
Terence exhaled deeply after soaking himself in the warm water. Kelly was on the other side of the fence, and Hailey kept her distance from them, perhaps thinking the atmosphere would be awkward.
Kelly started chatting with him. Things started well, but the conversation slowly moved to talk about Hailey. The latter faltered when she heard her name.
“Terence, haven’t you considered giving her a chance to make up for her mistakes?” Kelly asked. She lived abroad and had only just returned for Richard’s birthday celebration. So, she thought the problems between Terence and Hailey were only about the groom switch and the aborted baby.
Hailey was at fault for both these instances, but Kelly noticed that Terence showed no sign of wanting to give the former a chance to make up for her mistakes Since Hailey was her niece, she wanted to speak. up for her.
Terence didn’t his eyes. After a while, he said vaguely, “We’ll see how it goes.”

Hailey smiled bitterly when she heard that, and Kelly knew not to push the subject. This was a matter between them, after all.
After a soak in the hot springs, the trio went to the restaurant for a meal. It was a buffet–style restaurant, so they grabbed trays and started picking the foods they liked.”
Hailey walked behind Terence and introduced the dishes to him. Unfortunately for her, he rejected every single thing she recommended.
“I’m allergic to that. I don’t like that. I don’t like that, either.”
When
Hailey’s expression became more crestfallen with every rejection. Kelly couldn’t stand it anymore. she saw Terence heading to the table, she smacked Halley hard. “What the hell are you doing, Hailey? Don’t tell me you have no idea what he can and can’t eat despite being married for five years!”
Hailey smiled bitterly, her gaze forlorn and sorrowed. How could she possibly know anything about him

when he’d accommodated her tastes for the past five years? Whether they ate at or in restaurants,
me he would go for dishes that suited her tastes.
Matthew was the only one she’d ever had patience for She could list Matthew’s likes and dislikes but knew nothing about Terence’s.
Hailey felt like she was eating cardboard throughout the meal.
After the meal, they wanted to go skiing at the resort’s ski slope but were told the slopes were temporarily closed due to the weather. So, they had no choice but to hang out at the resort.
Kelly took Terence and Hailey to the resort’s bar. However, she left halfway through to answer a call, leaving the other two alone in the dimly lit bar
Terence couldn’t keep the act up anymore. He took off his coat and headed to the dance floor. It was only then that Hailey realized he wore a thin mesh shirt underneath his coat, revealing his perfect abs.
He was already handsome, to begin with–he had chiseled features and bright eyes. He attracted everyone’s attention.
This pissed Hailey off. She felt like people were coveting her precious treasure. She strode toward Terence, wanting to throw her coat over him. He dodged her, though..
“Terence!”
