Debra shook his hand firmly, and Ben watched with astonishment.
Garland was soaking them, but Debra agreed without even negotiating. That was not the right way to do business.
Debra said, “Draft up the contract. I want it signed immediately.”
“But…” Ben hesitated, hoping she would reconsider the matter.
Debra shot him a look, and he quickly replied, “Right, I’ll get on it.”
As she came out of the office, the employees hurried back to their seats. It was like a melodrama happening in real life.
