“Mrs. Houston, let’s go upstairs,” said the maid.
Debra glanced at her. “I’ve been cooped up in the house for days. I need some fresh air. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”

Debra glanced sideways, noticing the guards tailing her. They weren’t giving her any chance to do anything suspicious.
The maid jogged up to her, pleading, “Mrs. Houston, if you’ve had enough fresh air, go back. If Mr. Lowe comes back and sees you out here, we’ll all be in trouble.”
“Drake just left. He won’t be back so soon, will he?” Debra reasoned.

He could kill her without batting an eyelid, and she gave up any thought of resistance. Debra asked him, “How did you know I was looking for you?”
“I believe it’s telepathy,” Marion replied.
“Be serious,” she pressed.
Marion sighed, “Drake’s car had just left when you rushed out to the courtyard. If I didn’t have the sense to show up, I wouldn’t be called a sensible husband.”
