When I looked into Rachel’s eyes, I could sense her intense hatred towards me and the satisfaction she felt after getting her
revenge.
It suddenly struck me as absurd.

No longer wanting to hear him defend Rachel, I looked away and said each word deliberately, “All the accusations against me are completely made up.
“Ms. Parker’s fiancé, Mr. Sinclair, and I have only had professional interactions.”
“Are you sure?”
Before I could finish, Adrian abruptly interrupted me.
“You gave me the ring. Is this your way of saying we’re strictly professional?”
