“Not your concern,” Edgar spat, pressing the gun barrel against Liza’s forehead. “Call Marion and tell him to prepare the ransom. Otherwise, I’ll kill her.”
“Go ahead,” Debra said indifferently. “Cathryn and I are rivals, and I’ve never gotten along with Liza. Killing either of them won’t affect me.”
Liza was pissed off. From the look on her face, Debra knew she was cursing her.
Debra added, “Save your energy. Using their lives to threaten me won’t work. You’d be better off making them call their families. Maybe Drake cares enough about his fiancée to pay up. As for Mr. Eaton Sr., he’s old and ruthless. I’d suggest contacting her brother instead. Maybe then, you’ll have a chance to walk away with the money.”
Liza listened with growing irritation. Undoubtedly, Debra was the devil’s advocate. “You make a good point,” Edgar admitted, ripping the duct tape off Liza’s mouth.

“Shut up!” Edgar pressed the gun harder against her forehead. “Call Fermin.”
Liza trembled and pulled out her phone to call Garland.
When the call connected, she cried out, “Brother, help me.”
Garland rushed into Juan’s room. Juan emerged from the bathroom, looking exhausted.
“I need to rest. You can take the night off.”
“No, it’s Liza. Edgar kidnapped her.
“When did this happen?”
“Tonight.”
“And Debra? Where is she?”
“I don’t know. Liza just told me to save her, and Edgar demanded 40 billion in ransom. I don’t have that kind of money. I don’t even know how much my family owns. What do we do?”
Juan changed his clothes and put on a mask. “I’ll go. You find Marion.”
“Find Marion? Me?” Garland pointed at himself, disbelieving. But Juan was already out the door.
Garland’s mind was a blank. His eyes caught sight of the voice changer Juan had left on the table. He grabbed it and rushed out. “Hey, you forgot your voice changer.”

In the abandoned factory, Edgar tore the tape off Cathryn’s mouth. “Call Drake.”
