Erica gaped at Debra.
“That was fast. Less than an hour.”
“Where’s Andrew?”
“In the study.‘
Erica didn’t know what Debra was up to, but her expression suggested something serious.
Debra marched straight to Andrew’s bedroom. The maid cleaning the room froze when she saw Debra enter.
“Mr. Andrew Potter is in the study. You can find him… there.”
Debra didn’t respond, just rummaging through drawers and cabinets.
The maid was baffled. “Mrs. Houston, what are you looking for?”
The medicine that was here earlier,” Debra said, pointing to the coffee table.
The maid recalled. “I think he threw it away.”
“What? Where?”
The maid glanced at the trash can, and Debra reached into it without hesitation.
Erica arrived just in time to witness the scene. She was puzzled. “What are you doing, Debra?”
Debra found the medicine and rushed out without a word.
“Debra, wait,” Erica called out, quickly following her.
Barton was briefing Andrew on work when the door burst open.
“Who’s there?” Barton instinctively shielded Andrew. “Mrs. Houston?”
Debra walked past him and smirked at Andrew. “Mr. Andrew Potter?”
“What’s…”
Before Andrew could finish, Debra shoved the pill into his mouth.
Andrew choked, his throat blocked by the unexpected pill. There was no water around, and Debra grabbed his jaw and clamped her hand over his mouth.
“Sorry, you’ll have to swallow it,” she said.
Andrew gaped at her. “What did you give me?”
“A pill.”

“The one you threw away.”
Andrew’s face clouded over. He had never looked as unsettled as this.
But instead of getting mad, he spoke calmly. “Do you know…”
“Taking sides. I know,” Debra interrupted. “Since you didn’t want to take it, I made you. You didn’t have a choice.”
“Debra…”
“If you want to punish me, I won’t argue.‘
Andrew, naturally, didn’t punish her. He simply said, “You can go.”
Standing at the door, Erica was dumbfounded. This tolerant side of Andrew was something she had never seen before.
Debra paused halfway and looked back at Andrew seriously. “If you try to induce vomiting or get your stomach pumped, I’ll feed your vomit back to you when you’re asleep.”
