Debra felt flattered, and Michael smiled, “This dress suits you perfectly.”
“Thank you.”
Michael glanced at the brightening sky outside. “It’s about time. I’d like to play the role of your family and walk you out.”
There was hardly anyone else left in the Frazier family.
Debra recalled all the ups and downs. Michael had always been the backbone of the company and her most reliable partner.
“In my mind, you’re always my family,” she said.
Michael chuckled, “If you hadn’t agreed to let me walk you out, I would’ve been upset.”
The bridal convoy pulled up outside. Erica saw it through the window and exclaimed, “Here they are. Go block the door.”
Debra blinked. “Block the door?”
Erica quickly directed the stylist and makeup artist to barricade the door. Then, with lightning speed, she pulled Debra to sit on the bed.
She whispered, “No matter what happens, don’t make a sound.”
“Why?” Debra was bewildered.
“I saw this on TV. When the groom comes to pick up the bride, the bridesmaids are supposed to block the door. It’s like a game. He has to pass all the tests to get through. I’ve studied this thoroughly. Trust me, it’ll be fun.”
“But…”
A sudden knock on the door interrupted them.
“Block it. Don’t let them in,” Erica commanded, throwing herself into the action.
From outside came a voice. “It’s me. Open the door.”
Erica recognized the voice. “Liza? What are you doing here?”
“I’m a bridesmaid. The wedding car brought me here,” Liza replied.
Erica doubted it. “I’m the only bridesmaid. Can’t fool me.”

“Debra made me her bridesmaid. Let me in,” Liza explained.
Erica turned to Debra for confirmation. She shrugged. “Liza complained about the boring life at the Potter Mansion and insisted on attending the wedding, saying she’d never been a bridesmaid before, so…”
Erica was skeptical, shouting toward the door. “I don’t believe you. You must be a spy.”
“Let me in, or I’ll knock down the door,” Liza threatened.

The makeup artist and the stylist jumped back in fright.
Liza strode in triumphantly, holding up a key card. “A small door can’t stump me.‘
Erica panicked. “Shit! If you could think of using the room key, Marion could too. This is not foolproof.”
“Erica…” Debra tried to say something, but a booming voice came from downstairs.
“Folks!” Garland announced
“The groom has come to pick up the bride.”
