“Yes, boss.” Kale picked up the fish soup and dumped it back into the bag.
Drake stared at the documents on his desk, muttering, “A pampered lady knows how to make soup. What a surprise!”
Then he suddenly remembered that Debra not only knew how to make soup but was also good at playing the piano, dancing, and manipulating people. It had been almost a year since they first met. He had kidnapped Debra multiple times but had never gained any advantage. Instead, he had lost a lot.
“She’s my nemesis,” he declared seriously.
If Debra wasn’t his nemesis, she couldn’t have played him like a fool. Ever since she appeared in his life, he had been nothing but unlucky.
His estate in Seamar City was burned down. One of his fiancées was dead, and the other publicly broke off their engagement. Even his overseas influence crumbled.
Debra was a curse that he should steer clear of.
The next morning, Debra woke up to prepare breakfast for Marion.
Coming downstairs, she found Drake reading the newspaper on the sofa. Out of courtesy, she intended to greet him, but as soon as she raised her hand, Drake ordered, “Kale, bring my breakfast to my room.”
He headed upstairs, deliberately using the other staircase to avoid any contact with her.
Debra was baffled. “What’s going on with Mr. Lowe?”
“Not sure.” Kale shook his head.
“Who pissed him off so early in the morning?”
“Not sure.”
No matter what Debra said, Kale’s response was always the same.
She wondered if it was because of yesterday’s fish soup. Drake was petty if he fussed

She shook her head and headed to the kitchen, where Lara was tidying up. turned around and paused at the sight of Debra.
