Adrian was utterly shocked, staring at me with a hoarse voice. “When did this happen?”
Elara, thinking I had another argument with Adrian, stepped forward to mediate. She forced a sweet smile, saying, “Alright, alright, Adrian, don’t blame her. It’s my birthday today; everyone should be happy. Kieran, let me cut you a piece of cake!”
I took a step back to maintain my distance from her and coldly replied, “No, thanks. I’m here today because Adrian promised that if I came, he would grant me a wish.”
I pulled out the divorce agreement and threw it in Adrian’s face. “Sign it. This is my wish.”
He tore the divorce agreement into shreds. “Don’t joke around, Kieran. You think I’ll

believe you‘ re pregnant just because of a piece of paper from a women’s hospital?”

I corrected him, “It’s not a pregnancy; I’ve already miscarried.”
He suddenly raised his voice, “What’s the reason? Is it because I was busy taking care of Elara and you got jealous that you made me lose our child?”
I chuckled coldly. “I did plan to abort the pregnancy. It’s just that before I could go to the hospital, the child was already gone.”
He froze. “What do you mean…?”
Looking at my mocking expression, he suddenly recalled the incident when he drove the car at me as if struck by
lightning. “How is that possible? I… I clearly stopped the car; I didn’t hit you at all! Let’s go to the hospital… the baby must be fine!”
He grabbed my hand, trying to pull me
outside.
Suddenly, Elara doubled over, clutching her stomach. “Adrian, my stomach really
hurts…”

Her lips trembled as if she were enduring immense pain.
Yet, instead of rushing to her side like usual, he darkened his face, erupting in anger at her. “What does your stomach ache have to do with me? It s not my fault
you got pregnant! You come to me every few days–are you out of your mind?”
Elara had never seen him like this. She stood frozen, forgetting to continue pretending to be in pain.
I shook off Adrian’s grip and pulled out the surgical paperwork from my bag, tossing it at him. “Look clearly; the baby is gone.”
He took the paper, glanced at it and didn’t dare to read on. He asked me in a hoarse voice, “When did you have the surgery?”
I sneered and said in a voice that everyone present could hear, “The day you brought Elara back to our house to spend the night.”
Elara’s boyfriend suddenly jumped up from the sofa and slapped Elara hard in the face.

“I told you to make more money, not cheat on me!”
Elara’s cheeks quickly swelled up and she covered her face with tears. “I didn’t! I just stayed there for one night, I really didn’t do anything else!”
Her boyfriend didn’t believe it at all. He cursed and slapped Elara a few more times. “How dare you lie to me! I’ve seen that there’s something wrong between you and your brother!”
Elara’s friends were all shocked and no one. dared to step forward to intervene.
Elara couldn’t stand the beating and retorted, “Yes! I did it, so what? You treat me badly, can’t I find a man who treats me well? I tell you, Adrian is a thousand times better than you!”
Adrian shouted, “Elara! Shut up!”
He then turned around in a panic to observe my face:

“Kieran, don‘ t listen to her nonsense! That night, you didn’t come back. I was really annoyed and didn’t want to contact you first. Elara called me in the middle of the night.
